      Sapa Building System becomes Sapa

Sapa Building System, one of the largest suppliers of aluminum building systems in the world and part of the Norwegian group Sapa (Sapa is fully owned by Hydro since October 2017), today announced the launch of its new brand, with the introduction of a new logo and visual identity.

The architecture and design studio Snøhetta has developed the new identity, building on the company’s Scandinavian heritage, and common mission to shape a sustainable future through innovative aluminum solutions.

Having already worked on the Sapa group's visual identity in 2013, Snøhetta was commissioned to create a visual identity that would unite the building systems business with the rest of the corporate identity.

“The rebranding was driven by the company’s wish to go to market as one company. Being Scandinavian means we believe in simplicity being the ultimate sophistication. This notion is mirrored in everything we do from our products, solutions, our people and this now reflected in our brand, and how we talk about ourselves," says Salvador Biosca, President of Sapa's aluminum building systems business area.

      Logo from the Scandinavian pinewoods
The new, simplified identity is expressed through giving the Sapa logo a distinctive green color derived from the Scandinavian pinewoods. It also symbolizes the "green" character of aluminum, the material being the heart and essence of all Sapa’s products.
